Chris Wiltz, a native New Orleanian, is the author of four novels and an acclaimed biography. The most recent is The Last Madam: A Life in the New Orleans Underworld, the true story of French Quarter legend Norma Wallace, which was awarded “Book of the Year—2000” by the New Orleans/Gulf South Booksellers Association. Her other four works are novels: The Killing Circle, A Diamond Before You Die, The Emerald Lizard, and Glass House, all set in New Orleans. She also co-wrote and co-produced the TV documentary backlash: Race and the American Dream about David Duke and his followers, first aired on PBS in 1992. Chris has been Visiting Writer in Residence at both Tulane and Loyola Universities, and adjunct faculty at Loyola. She has conducted dozens of seminars on writing fiction and creative non-fiction. She was Vice President of Programming at the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival, and she is still active in the festival. Currently she continues to write, freelances as an editor, and serves on the Advisory Committee of Loyola University’s Walker Percy Center for Writing and Publishing.
Nevada Barr is an award-winning novelist and New York Times best-selling author. She has a growing number of Anna Pigeon mysteries to her credit as well as numerous other books, short stories, and articles. Nevada was was born in the small western town of Yerington, Nevada and raised on a mountain airport in the Sierras. Both her parents were pilots and mechanics. Nevada fell into the theater, receiving her BA in speech and drama and her MFA in Acting before making the pilgrimage to New York City, then Minneapolis, MN. For eighteen years she worked on stage, in commercials, industrial training films and did voice-overs for radio. During this time she became interested in the environmental movement and began working in the National Parks during the summers — Isle Royale in Michigan, Guadalupe Mountains in Texas, Mesa Verde in Colorado, and then on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. She currently resides in New Orleans with her husband, four magical cats, and two adorable dogs.

She has worked as an English teacher, a journalist, a writer, and an editor. She earned a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Nicholls State University, her editing certification from the University of California at Berkeley, and is currently working on her MFA in Creative Writing at National University.
